42ND ANNIVERSARY OF MEDICINA ALTERNATIVA CELEBRATED! Quoted from Sunday Observer, Colombo, Sri Lanka, June 20, 2004 The 42nd anniversary of Medicina Alternativa was celebrated by delegates from 140 countries in Washington DC, USA on June 3. The Global Health Foundation established by Bill and Melinda Gates hosted a dinner to organizations carrying out humanitarian medical services worldwide. Prof. Dr. Anton Jayasuriya represented Medicina Alternativa at this elite function. From June 4-7, Medicina Alternativa held a World Congress of Integrated Medicine at the Madison Hotel Banquet Hall in Washington DC. It was hosted by Prof. Dr. Dame Linda Lancaster NMD, PhD, the U.S.A. Chancellor of Medicina Alternativa. The Chief Guest and Theme Speaker at the Washington meeting was Prof. Dr. Anton Jayasuriya. In his theme speech, Prof. Jayasuriya said that it was time to integrate all medicines into one single healing modality for the benefit of all mankind the world over. The Congress called for all practitioners to be registered in a single world medical council to be up in 2005 under the aegis of a United Nations NGO approved by W.H.O.
