BIOGRAPHY

Medical Consultant with about 12 years experience the practice /teaching of complementary and Alternative Medicines.

Born about 3 ½ decades ago in Eastern Nigeria to Mr. Damian Onyeka a retired teacher /Educationist and late Mrs. Theresa Onyeka (teacher/Nurse) of Umuokirika, Ahaizu-Mbaise, Imo State Nigeria. Attended primary and secondary Schools in Jos Plateau State, Northern Nigeria.

Graduated in 1992 after a D.H.M.S course in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery. Within the period of 1997- 98 went for post graduate and upgrading training in Homeopathy and Natural Medicine.

Later proceeded to the institute of Acupuncture, Homeopuncture and Laser therapy, Colombo South University Teaching Hospital Kalubuwila, Sri-Lanka. Medicina alternativa Institute, of the Open International University for complementary Medicines for Specialist course/ Clinicals in Acupuncture, Homeopathy and Laser therapy, rounded up studies at above University with an MD (doctorate degree in Alternative Medicine) after presenting a THESIS on the Development of Medicines in Nigeria.

Thesis supervised / research carried out in Sri-Lanka and the Nigeria Institute of Medical Research Yaba Lagos 2003.

Dr Onyeka has worked in various capacities as Physician, researcher and teacher.

• Worked as physician in about two allopathic / Western Medicine Hospitals. 1995 - 1998
• Worked as physician in about five Complementary Health care centers / Hospitals. 1993 - 1995, 1998 -1999, 1999-2000
• Lectured at the Nigerian College of Natural Medicine, Federal ministry of Science and technology. 9, Kofo Abayomi Street, VI. Lagos 1999 - 2001.
• Worked as Medical Consultant Homeopath - Model Clinic, Nigeria Natural Medicine Development agency Federal Ministry of Science and Technology. 9, Kofo Abayomi Street, VI. Lagos 2000 - 2001.

While working as Medical Consultant in the Natural Medicine Development Agency of the Fedral Ministry of Science and Technology, Nigeria.

Carried out research / clinical effectiveness of Complementary remedies in the treatment and management of the following:

• H.I.V. types 1 &2
• Asthma
• Venereal Diseases
• Diabetes mellitus
• Uterine Fibroid
• Hypertension etc.

Dr Onyeka has attended and actively participated in many International and Local Seminars/Congresses on Health care. Some of these Seminars/ congresses were organized by W.H.O, Medicina Alternativa, and Federal government Agencies.

1. Appointed coordinator Campaign against Pollution (Nigerian asthmatic Society. 1999
2. Appointed member as an expert, National committee on research and development of Natural Medicine, by the Hon, Minister for Science and Technology Abuja-Nigeria. 2002
3. Nominated for listing in 2nd Edition of Who is Who in Nigeria. (Nigeria International Biographical Center) 2001
4. Awarded the Degree, Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) D.Sc for exceptional work in Homeopathy in my Hypothesis that the Brownian Motion Law in Physics and Modus Oparandi of Photon rays in satellite communications, provides the scientific evidence of the working principle of Homeopathy. 2003
5. Conferred on the fellowship of Royal Complementary Practitioners, F.R.C.P (MA) in Colombo Sri-Lanka, by Medicina Alternativa International. April 2002
