PHYSICIAN[ALT. MED] , RESEARCHER AND TEACHER

Consultant Homeopath with about 13 years experience in the practice/ teaching of complementary and Alternative Medicines.

Born about 3 ½ decades ago in Eastern Nigeria to Mr. Damian Onyeka a retired teacher/ Educationist and late Mrs. Theresa Onyeka (Teacher/ Nurse) of Umuokirika, Ahiazu-Mbaise, Imo State, Nigeria. Attended primary and secondary schools in k. vom and jarawan kogi Jos, Plateau State, Northern Nigeria.

Graduated after a D.H.M.S course in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery,from Pan African Homeopathic Medical College,Oguta,Imo State (1987-1992) and one year internship,at the Mother of Christ Clinic, d line PH(1992-1993). Within the period of 1997-98, 2000, went for post graduate and upgrading training in Homeopathy and Natural Medicine, at the Nigerian College Of Natural Med.[federal minstry of science and technology 9 kofo abayomi st Vi Lagos. Later in 2001/ 2002 proceeded to the institute of Acupuncture, Homeopuncture and Laser therapy, Colombo South University Teaching Hospital, Kalubuwila, Sri-Lanka. Medicina Alternativa Institute, of the Open International University for complementary Medicines, for Specialist course/ Clinicals in Advance Homeopathy, Acupuncture and Laser therapy, rounded up, studies at above University with an MD (doctorate degree in Alternative Medicine) after presenting a THESIS on the Development of Medicines in Nigeria. Thesis supervised/ research carried out in Sri-Lanka and the Nigeria Institute of Medical research Yaba, Lagos 2003.

Dr. Onyeka is a licensed Naturopathic physician by the department of health, health professional licensing administration, Washington D.C USA. Dr. Onyeka is also conversant with Homeopathic software programmes (Kent Homeopathic Associates Inc. San Rafael California, and others) for diagnosis, prescriptions and research, Dr. Onyeka is also in touch with recent works on Homeopathy by various prominent menbers of the North American society for Homeopaths.

Dr. Onyeka has worked in various capacities as Physician[alt. med], Researcher and Teacher. Worked as physician[alt. med] in about two allopathic/ Western Medicine Hospitals. 1995-1998 Worked as physician in about five Complementary Health care centers/ Hospitals. 1993-1995, 1998-1999, 1999-2000. Lectured at the Nigerian College of Natural Medicine, federal Ministry of Science and Technology. 9, Kofo Abayomi Street, VI, Lagos 1999-2001. While working as Medical [alt. med]Consultant in the Natural Medicine Development Agency of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, Nigeria. Carried out research/ clinical effectiveness of Complementary remedies in the treatment and management of the following:

Asthma
Diabetes mellitus
Hypertension
Malaria and others

Dr. Onyeka contributes articles for publications in the Guardian newspapers of Nigeria (Thursday's Natural health column) for about 6 years now. And also has articles and review works published in peer review medical/allied journals.

Dr. Onyeka has attended and actively participated as speaker and delegate in many International and Local Seminars/ Congresses on Health care. Some of these Seminars/ Congresses were organized by W.H.O, Medicina Alternativa, and Federal Government Agencies.

2001Awarded the Degree, Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) D. Sc for exceptional work in Homeopathy in my Hypothesis that the Brownian Motion Law in Physics and Modus Operandi of Photon rays in satellite communications, provides the scientific evidence of the working principle of Homeopathy.
2003 Conferred on the fellowship of Royal Complementary Practitioners, F.R.C.P (MA) in Colombo Sri- Lanka, by Medicina Alternativa International.
April 2002 Conferred on an accolade of excellence as a distinguished laureate,by lightharmonics inst.
June 2004 in recognition of my presentation/ lecture on the African experience in the Mgt. of Imunulogical disorders, with Holistic Medicare at the Madison Hotel, Washington D. C USA.
